FAQ

At the initial appointment, please arrive 10-15 minutes early to fill out paperwork.  You will be required to fill out a Client Intake Form and sign a HIPAA Acknowledgment form and allow time to discuss goals for your session. It is important to list all health concerns and medications so I can adapt the session to your specific needs without doing any harm.  It is important to list any allergies incase I need to use a different oil or lotion during the session.

To start the session, privacy will be provided to disrobe. Clients always disrobe to their level of comfort, before laying on the massage table. Sheets and a blanket with a heated table are provided and expect soft lighting, and calming music.  High standards of professionalism and work ethics are a priority to provide a safe and comfortable environment to receive physical touch. Proper draping will always be in place for each client when receiving a massage. After the massage is finished, you can expect privacy within the space to get dressed before meeting outside of the massage room to complete the session.

Being self conscious shouldn’t keep you from seeking health care, whether it’s visiting your doctor or seeing a massage therapist.  A professional massage therapist will be non-judgmental and focus on your muscles and other soft tissue.  Still, Some common caners clients have are: back acne, believing they are overweight, thinking they have ugly feet, or being self conscious about scares.  You can request that I avoid certain areas. Or you can have the massage done through clothing.  If you didn’t have time to shave your legs, not to worry.  Wether or not there is hair on your leg is of no concern.

Falling asleep during a massage is very common. Many people go into a massage stressed and sleep-deprived and feel so relaxed that they fall asleep on the massage table. No worries if you snore during the massage. When you wake up, you may notice a little drool on your face or on the massage table. It's common and has to do with your positioning on the massage table. You don't have to do anything about it, but you should feel free to ask for a tissue.

Yes, I do treat children and teens. I do require a parent or guardian to be present during the session. I’m also certified as an Educator of Infant Massage.

No. You always disrobe to your level of comfort. Professional draping will always allow the client to feel safe. If you prefer to leave an article of clothing on, we will work around it without a problem.  The body part or area of the body that is receiving the work will be the only area exposed at a time.

Each session is unique to your individual needs. There are several modalities that are used along with different levels of pressure.  I offer anything from light touch with a Swedish massage flow, trigger point, deep tissue, stretching, myofascial release, cupping and KTaping.

Massage should not be painful. There are several different techniques and levels of touch from light, medium and deep are used to provide comfortable levels of touch.   I will check in during the massage but always want my clients to provide feedback if you want increased pressure or lighter pressure; as I can adjusted at any time during the massage. Following a session, you may experience soreness afterwards or the following day-similar to what you experience following a workout. Increasing water intake is highly recommended.

If there are any areas you want me to avoid just communicate this at any time either prior or during the massage.

That is up to you. Some clients prefer to talk during the massage and that is totally fine. However, other clients prefer deep relaxation and silence during the session and that is fine, too. I will follow your lead and be mindful of how you prefer the session to be. The only time communication is encouraged is when something hurts, or uncomfortable, or feel too hot or cold, have any questions about the massage, or forgot to mention a health issue during the consultation.  Please don’t hesitate to speak up-this is not offensive or does not hurt my feelings if variations need to be made.

Missed appointments or those canceled with less than 24-hours notice will be charged $25.00. Please give 24-hours notice if you need to reschedule your appointment so that hour may be made available to others.
